Another year another train dilemma
It’s not even the end of January and already the trains are buggered. Apparently this week, CityRail has informed us that there is some urgent trackwork that needs to be completed. Therefore “All trains are not running to timetable order”. Instead the timetable has been changed to an “Emergency Timetable with trains running (supposedly) 15 minutes apart.” Well that’s what CityRail tells us.
Marrickville is approximately 8 kilometres south west from the Sydney’s CBD and 7km by train to central station. When trains to run on time it normally takes me 40 minutes to get to work door-to-door. It should be an efficient way to travel.
Yet why does it feel like such a battle to get to work everyday? I tell you what though, I feel sorry for the poor buggers that have to get on at St Peter’s and Erskineville. By the time the sardine packed train arrives at their respective stations they’re stuffed!

It's true it's a veritable shitfight to get to work each morning. Getting the train at Marrickville can indeed be grim - feeling the collective workabee skulls sag that extra few inches the morning a toothless old crone with a VB long neck started a screech-fest ("oi! do you think you're better than me, you c*nt!" etc.) with that sweet but pervy chubby guy who watches the trains (and all under 25 y.o. females waiting for them) all morning comes to mind - but having to sqeeze armpit to armpit with your neighbours in sweltering heat on the only train for 35 minutes truly makes you feel very special indeed. Why, CityRail, why???
IVE CONVERTED!!!
due to freaks, unsightly odors and spam in a can atmosphere I have converted to the unreliable sydney buses as my usual mode de transporte!
it takes around the same time as the train network and I get to chose which freak to sit next too.. thou I pay a heftier price at $3.90 a pop one way!
